I hold a Masters’ Degree in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage & Family Therapy from Dominican University of California. I have a combined 27 years of experience in the fields of psychotherapy and human resources management. My undergraduate degree is in Organizational Behavior from the University of San Francisco. I bring empathy, humor and warmth to my work with teens, adults, couples and families. I am passionate about my work and I am effective in treating co-occurring disorders and assessing learning differences. I am effective in helping people reach their full potential, to reduce suffering and lead a more meaningful life.
My life experiences include being a 4th generation San Franciscan and having resided in both Northern and Southern California with my family and 3 dogs. I was a competitive athlete as a child and teenager.
When meeting with clients, I begin by completing a thorough assessment. I am eclectic in my approach, using evidence-based modalities, such as Psychodynamic, Solutions Focused, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. I look at individual and family history for intergenerational trauma, addiction and mental health conditions and also assess family of origin issues. I am certified in Adolescent Brief Substance Abuse Interventions, Child Needs and Strength Assessments, Process Groups, Psychoeducational Groups, Safety Planning, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Harm Reduction and The Twelve Steps.
Currently, I can accept the following insurances: Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross, Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS), Cigna/Evernorth and Tricare. If you have other insurance, I can provide a superbill for you to request reimbursement and I also offer low cash rates for my sessions as well.
